June 2026

June 6 – Price County Dairy Breakfast
Where: Phillips (watch the Phillips Chamber event page for the host farm location)
Time: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Cost: Free will offering
What: Scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, pancakes, and all the dairy you can drink. A classic northern Wisconsin tradition.

June 26, 28, Hayward Musky Festival

Note: This is in Hayward (Sawyer County), not Park Falls. We’re including it because it’s the biggest musky event in the Northwoods and it’s 45 minutes from Phillips. Many Price County residents attend and volunteer.

Where: Hayward, WI
What: The 76th annual Musky Festival. Fishing contest, parade, carnival, live music, food vendors. This is the event that put “musky capital” on the map.

July 2026

July 3, 4, Price County PRCA Rodeo

Where: Price County Fairgrounds, N9130 Forest Lane, Phillips, WI 54555
Time: 7:30 PM nightly
Cost: Tickets sell out every year. Buy early at Bader’s in Phillips (cash or check only)
What: Bareback riding, saddle bronc, bull riding, barrel racing, breakaway roping, calf roping, steer wrestling, team roping. This is a real PRCA-sanctioned rodeo, not a county fair sideshow, 3× Great Lakes Small Rodeo of the Year and 2024 WPRA Small Rodeo of the Year. Two nights, same events, different contestants each night.

July 4, Independence Day

Phillips: Fireworks over Elk Lake at dusk (check the Phillips Chamber calendar for parade time and other details as July approaches).
Park Falls: Fireworks at the athletic field. Check the Park Falls Area Chamber Facebook for live music and food details.

August 2026

August 20, 22, Price County Fair

Where: Price County Fairgrounds, Phillips
Cost: Thu (Community & Senior Day) $15, Fri-Sat $30, 3-day pass $60. Kids 2 & under free. All grandstand events included in admission.
What: 140 years and counting. Livestock shows, 4-H exhibits, carnival rides, fair food, demolition derby, and live music every night. The fairgrounds are in Phillips and this is the social event of the summer.

August 28, Timm’s Hill Trail Invitational

Where: Timm’s Hill County Park, Ogema
What: Cross country trail run on the Timm’s Hill Trail. The course goes through the highest point in Wisconsin. Check timmshilltrail.com and Milesplit for registration and course details as the date approaches.

September 2026

September 4, 7, Prentice Progress Days

Where: Prentice, WI, Lions Park, MBS at 929 Railroad Ave, and throughout town
What: This is the Labor Day Weekend event in Price County. Four days of live music, the Northwoods Truck Show, a parade, pancake breakfasts, kids’ activities, cornhole tournament, car show, and street dances. The truck show alone is worth the drive. Semis, show trucks, and a glow show after dark.

  • Fri Sep 4: Firsthand High (street dance), open truck registration at MBS, semi glow & show
  • Sat Sep 5: Pancake breakfast at Lions Park, parade at 10:30 AM, kids’ rides & face painting, Northwoods Truck Show, Jon Peck and the Bad Dogs (live music)
  • Sun Sep 6: Pancake breakfast, car show, cornhole tournament

Camping: Riverside Campground, 1599 Dr. MacKinnon Drive, Prentice, $20/night (electric only, first come first served). Showers available at Prentice High School and Prentice Travel Center.

September 26, Ogema Christmas Tree Festival

Where: Ogema, WI
Time: 11:00 AM, 10:00 PM
What: Yes, it’s called the “Christmas Tree Festival” and it’s in September. This is Ogema’s signature community event. A full day of food, crafts, music, and small-town celebration at the end of summer. If you’ve never been to Ogema, this is the day to go.

Recurring Weekly Events

These happen every week, all summer long:

  • Friday Night Fish Fry, Every supper club and bar in the county. Ripsaw Saloon in Prentice does a hand-battered walleye fry with beef tallow fries that’s worth the drive from anywhere in the county.
  • Phillips Farmers Market, Saturday mornings, 8 AM. Noon, Phillips City Park. June through October. Local produce, honey, baked goods, crafts. Contact: Phillips Area Chamber, (715) 339-4100, [email protected]
